🗿 Yakuza 6: Chapter 12 - The Sleeping Giant Walkthrough

This chapter is heavy on story, backtracking to Onomichi, a surprise boss fight, and an investigation that leads to a series of high-stakes battles.

Part 1: Kamurocho and Return to Onomichi

  1. New Serena & Rooftop: The chapter begins with a cutscene at New Serena following the events of Chapter 11. Exit through the back door and climb to the roof for more plot progression.

  2. Travel to Onomichi: When the cutscenes conclude and you regain control, your objective is to take a taxi to Onomichi. Before you do, this is your last chance to explore Kamurocho for a while, so restock your supplies if needed.

  3. Onomichi Arrival & First Fight: After arriving in Onomichi, you'll be immediately drawn into a fight on the street.

    • The Fight: This is a standard crowd fight with a few tough minions, including a named mini-boss named Ito. Focus on your allies' help to quickly thin the crowd using crowd control tactics (grabs, throws, and sweep attacks).

  4. Hirose Family Office: Once the area is clear, you are free to move. Head to the Hirose Family Office (pink dot). A major cutscene will play, and the time will advance to night.

Part 2: Surprise Boss Fight

  1. Immediate Boss Fight: After the lengthy night cutscene at the office, you'll be thrust into an unexpected boss fight.

🥊 Boss Fight 1: Toru Hirose

This fight takes place in a narrow alley, which severely limits your mobility and ability to find weapons.

  • Strategy: Hirose is a fast and powerful brawler, and his wide sweeps make dodging difficult in the confined space.

    • Prioritize Extreme Heat: Since mobility is restricted, your best bet is to rely on Extreme Heat Mode for reliable, high-damage combos. Drink an energy drink or alcohol to top off your Heat Orbs and use the Heat Rush combo to deal significant damage.

    • Throw/Body Slam: When you aren't in Extreme Heat, look for opportunities to grab him. Since you're in an alley, you might be able to body slam him through a nearby obstacle like a moped for a Heat Action, but the window is small.

    • Defense: Block if you can't get out of the way, but focus on the quick Square/X combos to interrupt him whenever there's an opening.

Part 3: The Nine Poem Stones

  1. The Code: After the fight and subsequent cutscenes, you are tasked with investigating nine "Poem Stones" scattered throughout Onomichi Jingaicho to decode a secret.

  2. Investigation: The Poem Stones appear on your mini-map as blue triangles, and a blue interaction triangle will appear when you are close. You must examine each stone (by taking a photo with your phone) in any order.

StoneLocationNotes
#1Shishido StreetLocated just east of the Oyster Shack, near a safe. It is the only stone south of the National Route road.
#2Central StreetLocated in the center of town, near a major intersection.
#3West Shishido StreetFound in an alleyway slightly north of Shishido Street.
#4Jizo StatueLocated near the Jizo Statue in the northwest part of the main town.
#5 & #6Ropeway StationFound along the mountain path leading up to the Ropeway and Temple area.
#7Senkoji TempleHead up the stairs past the Ropeway to the Temple grounds. Located near a guy at the end of the path, blocked by some benches.
#8 & #9Northern Temple PathLocated along the winding paths in the northern mountainous area, possibly near the Cemetery.
  1. The Graveyard: Once you have pictures of all nine stones, return to the Hirose Family Office for another cutscene. You will then be directed to the graveyard in northern Onomichi. Examine the large, solitary gravestone for the next plot sequence.

Part 4: Final Assault on the Shipyard

  1. Docks: The plot will direct you to the docks in the southern part of Onomichi. Follow the pink marker and take the boat to the shipyard.

  2. Shipyard Brawls: You will now face a series of crowd fights, often with your allies assisting you.

    • Wave 1 (Minions): A large group of standard minions. Use throws to maintain crowd control.

    • Wave 2 (Catwalk): A dozen minions on a catwalk. Use sweeping attacks and throws.

    • Wave 3 (Open Deck): Another dozen minions, some armed. Use standard tactics.

    • Wave 4 (Elevator/Mini-Bosses): After an elevator ride, you'll face a wave with two persistent mini-bosses, Umeda and Inagaki. Use Extreme Heat now if you have orbs to spare to quickly eliminate the threat and save your higher-quality items for the final boss.

  3. Final Boss Fight: After clearing all the brawls, you will finally face the chapter's main boss.

🥋 Boss Fight 2: Kaname Daimon

This is the final confrontation that concludes the chapter. Daimon is a large, powerful opponent who hits hard.

  • Strategy: Daimon is another heavy-hitting tank enemy who relies on brute force.

    • Evasion: His attacks are slow but hit like a truck. Quickstep dodging to the side or behind him is essential.

    • Heat Rush: Use your best Extreme Heat Mode combo immediately. Since he is a large target, it's easier to land the full sequence of attacks.

    • Heat Actions: Look for opportunities to hit him with an environmental object or a grapple-based Heat Action to deal significant damage.

    • Sustain: Keep your health high and focus on short, punishing combos after a successful dodge.

Defeating Daimon triggers the final cutscenes of the chapter.

👨‍👦 Yakuza 6: Chapter 11 - Father and Son Walkthrough

This chapter is split between Onomichi and Kamurocho, culminating in a dangerous rescue and a final confrontation.

Part 1: Departure from Onomichi

  1. Preparation (Onomichi): The chapter begins in Onomichi with a series of emotional and plot-heavy cutscenes following the events of Chapter 10. Take this opportunity to fully restock your health and Heat items (Staminan Royale, Toughness ZZ, alcohol, etc.), as the second half of the chapter is a lengthy combat sequence.

  2. Travel: When you are ready, talk to Yuta at the Hirose Family office to initiate the journey back to Kamurocho.

Part 2: Search for Yuta

  1. New Serena: Once you arrive in Kamurocho, head to New Serena to meet with Date and drop off Haruto. A long cutscene will play.

  2. Yuta's Disappearance: Yuta will excuse himself to make a phone call outside and subsequently disappear.

  3. The Trail: Exit the bar using the back door and descend the fire escape. You'll see a series of cutscenes when you reach the street.

  4. Little Asia: After the cutscenes, you'll receive a call from Nagumo. You'll realize Yuta has gone to Little Asia on a dangerous, misguided mission. Head to the south entrance of Little Asia, which you will find is once again on fire.

Part 3: Infiltration of Burning Little Asia

You are now in a gauntlet of fights inside the burning building. Use the tight spaces and environmental weapons to your advantage.

  1. Ground Floor Fight: Clear the thugs outside the burning building and enter. You'll face an initial wave of enemies inside. Use the chairs and tables as weapons to clear them quickly.

  2. Staircase 1: Break the rubble blocking the next staircase (use a normal kick with Triangle/Y). Head up the stairs.

  3. Second Floor Fight (Mini-Boss Shen): You'll face another wave of enemies, including a tough minion named Shen who has a long boss-like health bar.

    • Strategy: Use more of the chairs and environmental objects in the area to deal with the crowd and focus damage on Shen. He's a heavy but standard enemy, so regular combos and throws work fine.

  4. Staircase 2: The next set of stairs is blocked by rubble. You will need a weapon (a chair, pipe, etc.) to clear it. A nearby chair will suffice.

  5. Third Floor Fight (Gunman): The next wave includes a thug with a submachine gun.

    • Priority Target: The camera will briefly highlight the gunman. Target him first as he can interrupt your combos and deal significant damage. He goes down in a few hits.

  6. Fourth Floor (Mini-Boss Ed): After clearing the area, approach the double doors at the far end to trigger the reappearance of the large Triad enforcer, Ed.

🥋 Mini-Boss Fight: Ed

Ed is a brutal brawler and the fight takes place in a large room, with dangerous patches of fire in the corner.

  • Strategy: Ed is dangerous and his attacks cannot be blocked. You must rely on dodging and parrying.

    • Chairs & Fire: Grab and throw any chairs you can find. A more advanced tactic is to circle Ed so his back is facing the fire. Even if he blocks, a strong impact might push him into the flames, which stuns him and causes damage. Do not let him push you into the fire.

    • Extreme Heat: When he reaches 50% health, Ed enters his Extreme Heat Mode. A strong Heat Rush combo from you will likely take him out quickly at this point.

  1. Final Ascent: Defeat Ed, then break the rubble at the next set of stairs to ascend to the top floor.

Part 4: Final Confrontation

  1. Top Floor Loot: Before going to the final objective marker, explore the floor for helpful items.

    • Toughness ZZ: There is often a Toughness ZZ tucked away near the final staircase.

  2. Final Scene: Approach the final pink dot to find Yuta in a self-destructive state. Kiryu needs to fight him to knock some sense into him and prevent a tragedy.

🥊 Boss Fight 3: Yuta Usami

Kiryu must fight his ally, Yuta, in a desperate attempt to save him.

  • Strategy: Yuta is fast, aggressive, and highly resistant to disruption in this fight.

    • Extreme Heat Offense: Yuta doesn't use the same tricky moves as other bosses in this phase. The most effective method is to immediately drink some booze to maximize your Heat Orbs, activate Extreme Heat Mode, and blast him with a sustained Heat Rush combo. If you've been upgrading your damage, this can take a huge chunk of his health.

    • Defensive Tactics: Once your Extreme Heat is over, adopt a defensive strategy. Yuta is very aggressive and will string together long combos. Prioritize quicksteps and short counters. Avoid engaging in long brawls.

    • Parry/Block: If you lose your rhythm or he is too close, block. His attacks won't break your guard, giving you a brief moment to reset.

    • Healing: This fight can be a grind. Be ready to pause and heal if your health drops below 50%.

Defeating Yuta triggers the final cutscenes and a massive revelation that concludes Chapter 11.

🩸 Yakuza 6: Chapter 10 - Blood Law Walkthrough

This chapter is almost entirely set in Onomichi Jingaicho and involves two major boss encounters and a large-scale brawl sequence.

Part 1: The First Conflict

  1. Story Progression: The chapter begins immediately after the conclusion of Chapter 9, with a long cutscene at the Hirose Family Office where the plot thickens.

  2. The Ambush: You'll be forced to engage with a massive wave of enemies in front of the Onomichi Shrine.

    • Strategy: These are standard thugs, but their numbers and weapons can be overwhelming. Focus on crowd control: grab the nearest enemy and fling them into their allies, and use the soccer kick (Triangle/Y after a knockdown) to quickly take out enemies on the ground.

  3. First Boss Fight: After the first wave is defeated, a cutscene will lead immediately into your first boss fight of the chapter.

🥊 Boss Fight 1: Joon-gi Han

This is a rematch against the leader of the Jingweon Mafia. His fighting style remains fast and focused on quick strikes and blocks.

  • Strategy: Your previous tactics still apply. Han relies on quick combos and blocks often.

    • Wait for an overcommitted attack (a wild kick or a charging strike), Quickstep laterally, and immediately counter with a short combo.

    • Weapons: Utilize any environmental objects you can grab, as these attacks are unblockable.

    • Extreme Heat: Use your Extreme Heat Mode to land a reliable, high-damage Heat Rush combo. As soon as you see the QTE trigger for his Extreme Heat, be ready to pop your own or focus on defense until his buff wears off.

    • Maintain patience and focus on landing hits only after he commits to an attack.

Part 2: The Setup and Infiltration

  1. Restock & Office Visit: After the fight, you'll regain movement. Restock on healing items if necessary. Yuta will update Kiryu on the situation.

  2. Hirose Family Office: Head to the Hirose Family Office. Another cutscene will play where Nagumo and the rest of the family arrive, giving you your next destination.

  3. The Docks: Head to the Onomichi Docks to continue the pursuit. A series of cutscenes will take place, leading you to your next major combat sequence.

Part 3: The Cargo Island Gauntlet

You will be automatically transported onto a ship on the ocean, where you immediately face a large number of enemies.

  1. Deck Battle 1 (Minions): You'll face a large group of dozens of minions. Stick to crowd control—grab and throw enemies, or use sweeping attacks to clear space. Your allies will help distract them.

  2. Deck Battle 2 (Mini-Tank): Another wave of enemies will appear, including an exceptionally tough minion named Yu (with a boss-level health bar) and a Tank enemy.

    • Explosive Barrels: Look for red explosive barrels on the shipping crates. It is highly recommended to grab one of these and throw it at the Tank enemy to instantly (or almost instantly) defeat them.

    • Prioritize: Take out the Tank first with a barrel, then defeat Yu and the remaining enemies.

  3. The Ambush & Rubble: After a phone call cutscene, your allies will stop following you. Grab a weapon (or a barrel) to clear the next pile of rubble blocking your path.

  4. The Crane Trap: You'll reach an area with shipping containers. Dozens of enemies will attack, and another enemy will drop explosive barrels from a crane above.

    • Stay Mobile: Your primary focus is movement. Stay on the red shipping containers and avoid the red barrel circles on the ground.

    • Weaponize Barrels: Grab an explosive barrel (if you can safely reach one) and toss it at the tougher enemies below. Let the dropped barrels do some of your work for you.

    • Defeat all enemies to clear the area and progress.

Part 4: Final Boss Fight

Continue through the cargo area, and you'll eventually trigger a final confrontation.

🥋 Boss Fight 2: Kanji Koshimizu

This is the final confrontation of the chapter. Koshimizu is a quick, tough fighter and a worthy opponent.

  • Heal Up: Use this brief moment before the fight to heal up to full health.

  • Strategy: Koshimizu fights similarly to Someya, relying on quick strikes and blocking.

    • Grapples: Unlike Han and Someya, Koshimizu dodges less often than he blocks, making grabs and throwing him a surprisingly effective way to start a combo or setup a Heat Action.

    • Extreme Heat Aggression: This is a good fight to use your Extreme Heat Mode aggressively. Activate it, close the distance, and start tapping your combo attack (Square/X). The Heat Rush combo, if upgraded, will knock down a huge chunk of his health before he can recover. Use your Extreme Heat strategically twice if possible.

    • Parry/Dodge: If not in Extreme Heat, stick to the tried-and-true method: lateral Quicksteps to get behind him after a combo, then land a quick hit or two before retreating.

  • QTE: Watch out for a Quick Time Event (QTE) when his health drops below 50%.

Defeating Koshimizu completes the action sequences and leads into the final dramatic cutscenes of Chapter 10.

🚶 Yakuza 6: Chapter 9 - Disappearance Walkthrough

Chapter 9 is centered in Onomichi Jingaicho and involves tracing the steps of the Hirose family and searching for a key person.

Part 1: Return to Onomichi

  1. Start the Chapter: Speak to Nagumo inside the New Serena bar in Kamurocho to initiate your travel back to Onomichi.

  2. The Roadblock Gauntlet: Once you arrive in Onomichi, you'll be on the main road, but your movement will be restricted for a short time.

    • Walk along the main road toward the east. You will encounter multiple groups of enemies blocking your path in short, successive fights.

    • Use the available street weapons (bikes, cones, signs) to speed up these brawls.

  3. The Moreno Bar: Continue fighting your way east along National Route 2, then turn south into the alley just past the overhead pedestrian path to reach the Moreno Bar.

  4. Dialogue: A long cutscene sequence will play inside the bar. Afterward, speak with the members of the Hirose Family inside.

  5. Freedom of Movement: Exit the bar to trigger a short cutscene. Your paths are now less restricted.

Part 2: Searching the Hirose Family Office

  1. Check the Office: Four pink dots will appear on your map, but the most important one is the Hirose Family Office, located immediately east of the Moreno Bar.

  2. Find the Clues: Kiryu will note the lights are on, but the door is locked.

    • Circle the Building: Walk around the north side of the office to find a side alley.

    • Climb the Ladder: Kiryu will automatically set up and climb a ladder to enter the upstairs bedroom.

    • Examine Objects: Once inside, you must examine two objects to progress:

      • A photo next to a telephone.

      • A box of matches on the table.

  3. Fight: Exit the office, and you will be immediately ambushed by a large group of enemies. Since the alley is narrow, focus on sweeping attacks or use the environment if possible. Defeat them to receive crucial information.

Part 3: The Chase and Boss Fight

  1. Snack Hourglass: The next pink dot leads you to Snack Hourglass, in the narrow alley south of Kiyomi's bar.

    • You cannot enter the bar. Speak to the woman standing outside to get your next lead.

  2. The Shrine: The woman will direct you to the Shrine in the northwest corner of the city.

  3. En Route to the Shrine: As you approach the shrine (you must go via the south, as the restaurant path is blocked), Kiryu will get a phone call, triggering the chapter's boss fight.

⚔️ Boss Fight: Yuta Usami (and Minions)

The battle begins with Yuta and a dozen other men.

  • Strategy (Phase 1): Focus on clearing the minions first. Yuta is fast and uses a knife, but the clutter of his men makes it hard to focus on him. Use your Extreme Heat mode to wipe out the small-fry quickly with wide-area attacks.

  • Boss Strategy (Phase 2): Once the minions are gone, focus on Yuta.

    • Knife Attacks: Yuta's knife strikes deal good damage and will often cause Kiryu to fall down, interrupting your combos. Be extremely careful when he wields the knife.

    • Patience and Dodging: Yuta is fast. Stay patient, use quick lateral Quicksteps to dodge his overcommitted attacks, and counter with short, quick combos. The Square-Square-Triangle-Triangle (Foot sweep/soccer kick) combo is highly effective due to its speed and knockdown ability.

    • Weapons: If you can grab any nearby environmental weapons, use them to deal fast, reliable damage.

    • Drunk Buff: If you are running low on Heat Orbs, consuming a strong alcoholic beverage (like one from your inventory) will restore some Heat and give you a brief strength boost, which is excellent for finishing the fight.

  • Climax: When Yuta's health drops low, a Quick Time Event (QTE) will trigger, and he will enter his own boosted state. Maintain your patient dodging and quick-attack counter-strategy to finish him off.

Defeating Yuta completes Chapter 9 and unlocks a major cutscene sequence.
